Victorville woman suspected in Irvine carjacking, evading officers in Highland
HIGHLAND >> A 28-year-old Victorville woman accused of an Irvine carjacking was arrested Friday afternoon, Aug. 18, after a short pursuit through Highland, officials say.
Aspenn Jones was arrested on suspicion of carjacking, robbery and felony evading, according to a San Bernardino County sheriff’s statement.
The pursuit began about 1:05 p.m. Friday after San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies located a stolen car at 9th Street and Sterling Avenue in Highland.
Deputies attempted to stop the driver, but the driver fled. After a short pursuit, the driver stopped and four people were detained. Jones was identified as the driver.
An investigation revealed that the car had been stolen Thursday from Irvine, the statement said.
