Pat Boone sings ‘Smoke on the Water,’ other hits for capacity crowd at Laguna Woods arts center
A capacity crowd of 800 fans packed the Laguna Woods Village Performing Arts Center in Laguna Woods on Wednesday, Feb. 14, for a Valentine’s Day concert by singer, songwriter and actor Pat Boone.
The concert opened with a montage of the movies and television shows Boone appeared in over his long career, then Boone took the stage wearing a rhinestone- studded, tasseled, white suit and opened the show with “Ain’t that a Shame.” He also performed by “Tutti Fruitt” and other of his top-40 hits from the ’50s and ’60s. He got a rousing cheer from the crowd when he donned a pair of sunglasses and a leather jacket to perform his rendition of Deep Purple’s hit song, “Smoke on the Water.”
