Festival artist to open exhibit of local scenes, landscapes at Laguna Beach gallery

Festival of Arts artist Tom Swimm will open his solo exhibit “Fresh Colors” Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Pacific Edge Gallery.

Swimm, of San Clemente, uses local scenes, landscapes and world travel for inspiration.

Swimm’s paintings depict the color and light of exotic locations such as the Greek Islands, the Italian Riviera, the Caribbean and Hawaii, and spots along the California coastline.

There will be 35 new paintings on display on Saturday. Swimm will be at the opening reception planned for 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17. The exhibit will be on display through the end of the month. Swimm first began exhibiting at the Pacific Edge Gallery in 1985.
